PERTH and Golf

Our first day in Perth was Father's Day back home.  Terry wanted to see the Falkirk Wheel.  We drove there and discovered that we had to wait for a couple of hours to ride.  We had lunch and filled in time relaxing and shopping.
This wheel was only opened in 2002 but seems to be popular.
The ride was quite relaxing and took about 45minutes.

After this, we drove to Bannockburn where Robert the Bruce defeated Edward the Second's (England) army.  It is the memorial site, not the actual spot which is now built over after so long.

Time was getting away so we had to miss Stirling Castle.  We did see the William Wallace tower from its base however.

Tonight I cooked a roast dinner.  It was so yummy after so much restaurant food.

The next day we intended to visit two golf courses, Carnoustie and St Andrews.
After breakfast, we headed on our way.
We could not find the championship course at Carnoustie so we went to coffee and then, with some help, managed to find it.

Then to St Andrews for lunch.  It was Welcome to University week so there were lots of students and parents around.  After eating and shopping, we headed for the famous Old Course.

So, golf visits done, we headed back to the flat to prepare for leaving the next day.  Tomorrow would see us in Edinburgh.
