BACK to ENGLAND

On the way to England we had to stop at two golf courses.
The first was Troon.  We found the gift shop after a brief wander around.  I went into the foyer and two of the golfers asked if I would like their photo with the replica claret jug, awarded to the winner of the British Open which will be at Troon in 2016.
The club captain and club secretary.
Apparently these are very important people in the golf club.  The secretary offered to take my photo with the jug.

Turnberry next.  The hotel here has recently been acquired by Donald Trump.  We decided to have the afternoon tea.

The timers tell you when your choice of tea is ready.

There were scones, jam, cream and cake added often this.  We took a doggie bag with us.

After this, we headed for tonight's stop.  We stopped in Gretna Green, Scotland, the traditional marriage spot for runaway marriages of the English in the 18th and 19th Centuries, at the blacksmith's anvil.  We were so late the museum was shut so I had to be content with looking around.

Onto the pub, The Golden Fleece, for an overnight stay. It was a lovely, spacious room with a modern bathroom.  The continental breakfast in the morning was good too.
