We arrived at our accommodation on Royal Cresent, to find our room was ready so we dragged the bags upstairs to the first floor and headed out to return the car and go to the Archives for more family history.
Royal Terrace.
This is a street full of Georgian terraces, some used as private homes and some used as hotels.
We found the Archives on Princes Street and entered, only to discover we needed Reader's tickets with photos. Luck we had some.
We requested, and were given, the original documents of the trial of my ancestor, Mary Crighton. It was quite a thick document as there were many witness statements.
It took quite a while and we needed a break so we walked up Princes Street and found an ice cream seller. We enjoyed our ice creams in the warm sunshine.
Just after ice cream
I checked out the shops and then we walked up to the Royal Mile to find dinner.
Relax time.
After that, we walked slowly home.
We needed to prepare for our flight to Dublin tomorrow afternoon.
