Shelton, Connecticut to Concord, Massachusetts

We woke to a bright, sunny day. Just got to breakfast in time as they were clearing up soon after we arrived.
After packing the car, we set off through windey streets till we got to the main road.  The fall foliage was quite pretty.
We stopped at a rest stop for a break, then continued.
We arrived in Concord at about 2 pm so we needed lunch.  We went to a little cafe where we ate lunch and got directions to the tourist office. The Federal Government shutdown had closed the Minuteman  National Park but we would not have time for that anyway.
We went to the Museum to see a lantern used to light the way for Paul Revere to let the citizens know that the British were coming.

The lantern

The museum contained various items representing life in Concord since it's earliest days to the more recent past.

After that, we drove to the famous North Bridge where the Concord militia stopped the British troops although outnumbered.

There is a militia man statue on one side and the grave of British soldiers on the other.

We then drove to our hotel and checked in.
We had dinner in Lexington.
After that it was time to drive home and rest before bed.
