Halifax NS

We got to our accommodation in Halifax (Best Western Chocolate Lake) at a reasonable time.
We we got to our room, I was concerned as it was on the road side but it turned out to be ok.
This was a washing stop so we went to the laundry room to wash.  That took a while but, once done, we went to the restaurant for dinner. It was ok. We met cocoa the house dog here. She even has her own business card.
The next day the sun was shining brightly so, after breakfast, ( which was very crowded by the way) we headed for Peggy's Cove. It was a pleasant drive and not too long.  When we got there, it was crowded with cruise ship day trippers.   We beat most buses but they kept coming.
The scene was pretty because the sun was shining brightly.  We took photos then hit the little craft type shops.

We then drove a short distance to the memorial to the Swiss Air disaster which happened off this coast in 1998.

We then drove back to Halifax city and had a bite to eat on the wharf. I went to the Tourist information and, while I was there, the fire engines came to put out a fire in the rubbish bin.

I then visited the Maritime Museum which had the story of the Titanic as well as othe things including the Halifax explosion of 1917.
We went to the Citadel but, as it was late, we did not go inside but took photos from the top.

We heard church bells, so as I had not been to mass since we left, we decided to go to St Mary's Cathedral for 5pm mass.
When mass was finished, we drove to Fairview cemetery where the graves of the Titanic victims are.
Some were unnamed, know only by classification numbers. The largest Celtic cross belongs to an Australian.

It was then time for dinner.  We ended up at Bishop's Wharf at a Japanese restaurant, although we did not have Japanese food ourselves.
Then back to the hotel after being away all day.
I did a final washing load as it would be a while before we could wash again.
Tomorrow we will travel to Prince Edward Island.
